nws, Oct 16 2026The alert type is the category the source published. ARC Warning does not rename it and does not add an outcome the source did not publish.
Official means one official source published the record.
The label describes how the record was filed. It is not a statement about anyone's intent.
High, medium, and low are ARC Warning display labels for how the record was filed. They are not a forecast.
When the source published its own number, such as an earthquake magnitude, that number is the measurement. The display label does not replace it.
