Wapsipinicon River near De Witt 4S affecting Scott and Clinton Counties. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Wapsipinicon River near De Witt 4S. * WHEN...Until late Monday night. * IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, Overbank flooding occurs. Water affects residences along the river between Wheatland and Calamus. Water affects businesses along the river near Calamus. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:30 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 12.3 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:30 AM CDT Sunday was 12.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage tomorrow evening and continue falling to 8.1 feet Sunday, October 18. - Flood stage is 11.0 feet. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. The next statement will be issued by Monday morning.
