VIIRS thermal detection

The alert type is the category the source published. ARC Warning does not rename it and does not add an outcome the source did not publish.

Type

• ARC Warning methodology

Reported means a single non-official report that a reviewer approved after checking the source, the date, and the place.

The label describes how the record was filed. It is not a statement about anyone's intent.

Verification

REPORTED

• ARC Warning methodology

High, medium, and low are ARC Warning display labels for how the record was filed. They are not a forecast.

When the source published its own number, such as an earthquake magnitude, that number is the measurement. The display label does not replace it.
